About

Matthew Karl Gale is an award-winning designer currently based in New York.

He holds two design degrees – one from UCLA and the other from CCA. He has worked in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Manhattan.

He grew up in Berkeley, California and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Both cities played a part in his aesthetic appreciation and were great places to grow up with various cultures and design. He started his studies at UCLA as a Pre-Med major, but after a design class at Art Center, he changed his education path to design. He graduated from UCLA’s Design|Media Arts program and interned at two industrial design firms in Los Angeles.

To further his career, he enrolled in the Industrial Design program at the California College of the Arts (CCA) where he graduated from in 2006. Since then he has worked for Williams-Sonoma Home, IDEO, MARTIN and is currently employed at Marchon Eyewear, the second largest global manufacturer and distributor of eyewear and sunglasses.

His clients at IDEO were The American Red Cross, CISCO, and The Tech Museum. At Marchon Eyewear, he works on Nautica and Sean John and has assisted with the Michael Kors, Nike, and Bebe collections as well.
